Too Easy Peach Dump Cake Recipe

Easy peach dump cake is a super simple, inexpensive dessert that will have you and your family begging for more!

Dump cakes have to be one of the easiest desserts on the planet and it’s almost hard to believe how simple they are to prepare, not to mention…They taste amazing!! Why would you want anything else??

Dump cakes are my go to dessert when I have company over or when I’m asked to bring a dessert for any function.  What makes them so great is they require very few ingredients.  There’s no eggs involved and you don’t even have to stir!  How easy is that?!!

You can make this with several combinations like pineapple and cherries, blueberries or apple, but my personal favorite is peach!  It’s like a mouth watering peach cobbler but easier!

So, if you’ve never made a dump cake or haven’t tried one with peaches, your in for a treat!

let’s make it!

To get started, all you need are 4 simple ingredients!  Peaches (I use canned, but if you’re lucky enough to have fresh, by all means, use them!!), one stick of butter, a yellow cake mix and cinnamon.  That’s it!!

Pour the peaches into a 13×9 Casserole Baking Dish...juice and all.  This next step is optional, but I love cinnamon…so I sprinkle cinnamon over the peaches.

Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the peaches, but do NOT stir.  Melt a stick of butter in the microwave and then drizzle over the dry cake mix.  If you prefer not to melt the butter, you can slice it thin and place it over the dry mix.  I’ve done it both ways and it turns out, pretty much the same.

Bake it in a preheated 350 degree oven and for about 50-60 minutes or until it’s golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.  All ovens are different, so it may be a little more or a little less, depending on your oven.  Just keep an eye on it.

is your mouth watering, yet??

After you take it out of the oven, let it sit for about 10 minutes, then serve with Homemade Vanilla ice cream or top it with whipped cream!  Both ways are awesome, but being from Texas, it’s almost a law that we have to serve it with Blue Bell Ice cream!

Tips:

  • There may be some dry cake mix spots after it’s baked, so to prevent this, smooth the dry cake mix with a spoon or fork and gently press it down with your fingers and then add the butter.
  • Try to cover as much of it with the melted butter as you can.  If you choose to cut the butter, instead of melting it, cut the stick into very thin slices so that you can get as many slices as possible.  This will ensure that you cover the entire top of the cake and this should help to prevent dry spots.  (If you still have them after it’s baked, just take a fork and gently mix it into the the topping.)
  • Add chopped pecans or walnuts to the top before you add the butter for a delicious crunchy texture.
