Easy Oven Baked Chicken Drummies Recipe

I love it when my local grocery store puts chicken drumsticks (or “dummies” as we like to call them) or thighs on sale for .99 cents a pound.  This is a great price when you really need to stretch a dollar AND you can feed a crew!  We usually put them on the grill, but occasionally, I like to cook them in the oven.  Since my hubby is the grill master, this takes the task of cooking them off of his shoulders.

This recipe for Easy Oven Baked Chicken Drummies is the bomb.  Not only is it easy, using ingredients that you probably already have, it taste really good!

Let’s Make it!

Ingredients:

All this recipe calls for is honey, ketchup, soy sauce, minced garlic, salt and pepper.

Salt and pepper your chicken on both sides, first, then, mix the honey, ketchup, soy sauce and garlic together.  Use a whisk or a fork to make sure it blends well.

I didn’t do it this time, but you really should line your casserole pan or cookie sheet with foil.  If you don’t, make sure to give your casserole pan or cookie sheet a good spray with Pam or a cooking spray.

Lay your drummies in the pan and pour the honey mixture over the chicken, making sure to cover each piece.

Pop them in the oven for about 45 minutes.  Then take them out and turn them over.  Raise the temperature to 425 degrees and bake them for another 15 minutes or so.  Keep an eye on them, making sure they don’t burn.

Ok…I know this picture isn’t too pretty, but it’s real life.

They taste waaaaaay better than this pic looks…trust me.  And…as you can see, I should have lined the casserole pan with foil.  But…oh well.  Live and learn.  It wasn’t too hard to clean up.

This is an easy, frugal recipe that I think everyone will like, as this is a great marinade.  Be sure to keep an eye out for sales on drumsticks, but you could also use thighs or breast for this recipe.  Just be aware that if you use breast, you may need to adjust the cooking time.
